The culmination of two year’s work (not to mention 25 years as a 4x4 journalist, 4x4 event organiser and general 4x4 anorak), I present to you my biggest and most demanding project to date – Macks 4x4 info – a free internet reference resource that covers virtually every element of four-wheel-drive and off-road pursuits … and what’s more it is 100% free both to the user and trader. Yes okay, I realise traders can pay me some pennies to enhance their entries or place an advert, but the basic initial listing is free of charge and will always remain so!
Basically it is a giant directory of online companies, anyone and everyone in the world of 4x4.
How did it come about? Well, having run off-road shows and events for the past 12 years, I thought it was high time I compiled a list for myself of current 4x4 & off-road companies. One thing led to another, and pretty soon my little personal database was up to over a thousand firms. What a waste keeping to myself I thought, so I decided to publish it online for everyone to see and benefit from. It’s why the World Wide Web was created after all.
Expanding daily, Macks 4x4 info already has thousands of companies, 4x4 clubs & off-road groups, voluntary organisations & charities with off-roading at their heart, and even personal websites of private enthusiasts, such is its diversity.
In a nutshell, I wanted to create something that would be informative, simple to use, and importantly, remain totally free of charge for visitors – exactly the same as the big internet search engines like Google or Yahoo! In fact, Macks 4x4 info could be described as exactly that … it’s "the Google of the 4x4 world!"
