How to use Macks

Using Mack 4x4 info is simplicity itself … we hope!

To search (remember to use the 3 buttons especially with single words):-

Click on SEARCH and enter title of the company/club/organisation/enthusiast’s website you are seeking.

or

Click on SEARCH and enter make/model of your vehicle.

or

Click on SEARCH and enter your local town, city or county.

or

Click on SEARCH and enter the first letters of your postcode to find who or what is in your locality. My postcode for example is CV12 0AS, so I would only type in CV. It can be a real eye-opener!

To browse:-

Click on DIRECTORY HOME, then click on your category of choice within DIRECTORY CATEGORIES [ l/h column on page ]

The categories:-

Obviously, with so many individual vehicle components in existence, listing each one would be impossible. We have however picked out some of the more requested items such as Alternators, Batteries and Starter Motors, rather than just lumping them into the ‘Electrical Equipment’ section.

Yes it’s a decent start (hope so anyway), but as the directory gets used we know the categories will need refining. Open to improvement, if there is a category missing you feel should be included, please email us with your suggestions. It’s a resource for everyone after all, so let’s get it looking and working efficiently.

Articles:-

By launch date of 1st May 2010 we had hoped to have at least a couple of articles included by way of an example, but sadly this was not to be. Continuing the tradition of great British flops, we have failed miserably. The fact is it was more important to get the entries right in the directory than to think about writing articles. That’s life!

Articles will follow I assure you, but these are merely icing on the cake. The directory is why you’re here, and that’s 100% up and running!

Forum:-

Bearing in mind ‘contact’ is what we’re all about, we will soon be launching a community forum-come-messageboard. Yes I know there are shedloads out there already, but Macks 4x4 info is different. Based around finding 4x4 dealers, seeking out someone who stocks that elusive spare part or simply exchanging ideas about overland travel, it’s an entirely different concept to what's already available. Instead the forum will be an exchange of ideas, plus "where to go?" and "where can I find?"

“Coming soon” as they say.

Contact:-

Unlike virtually every other resource site, we aim to be wholly contactable. We believe this is important. At the end of the day we are off-road enthusiasts exactly the same as you, so speak the same language and hold the same views regarding what ‘outsiders’ think of us. Approachable and friendly, we welcome your views and comments.

We think for instance we’ve done a pretty decent job listing all the separate categories - well we would!!! However, nobody’s perfect (not even us … then again?) so if you can think of any improvements, we are always open to constructive criticism and suggestions. This goes for the entire website, so by all means email us with your thoughts and ideas.

I have to say email is preferable to the phone, as to be perfectly honest I have the memory of a goldfish, so at least with an email you stand a fighting chance of me recalling your thoughts. That’s not to say I can’t be contacted by phone, but now you know the best option.

That’s it, enough waffle from me … go seek!
